Commissioning a piece with Vibrant Vintage Furnishings is a quiet, collaborative process. You bring the piece — or the dream of one — and Kara brings two decades of an artist's eye for colour, finish, and the way furniture should feel inside a beautifully lived-in Calgary home.
Whether you want a tired dresser made unforgettable, a buffet refinished to anchor a dining room, or a coordinated bedroom set carried through in a single mood, every commission is treated as a singular work of art.
The process

Walk Kara through your home, the room it lives in, the colours you love, and the mood you want the finished piece to hold.
You will receive a curated direction — finish style, palette, hardware, and timeline — written specifically for your piece and your space.
A 50% deposit secures your place in the studio calendar and starts the work. Online payments will be available shortly through a secure Stripe checkout.
Your piece is carefully prepared, refinished, and detailed by hand in the Calgary studio — every layer chosen with intention.
When your finished piece arrives, the remaining balance is due on delivery. Your one-of-a-kind furnishing is ready to live in your home.

Commissioned for a spa
A wellness studio reached out looking for a substantial, character-rich sideboard to anchor their reception. Kara refinished the louvered buffet in a quiet garden sage with a hand-oiled oak top — calming enough to set the tone for treatments, grounded enough to hold its own beside the studio's pale plaster walls. It now greets every guest the moment they walk through the door.
Commissioned for a private client
A client came to the studio with a very clear picture in mind — this exact tall chest, refinished in this exact honey-pine tone. Kara stripped the original walnut stain back to bare timber, let every natural knot and grain line return, and sealed it in a matte hard-wax oil. A piece commissioned to the letter, delivered exactly as imagined.
Commissioned for a family bedroom
A family approached Kara wanting a coordinated bedroom set that felt soft, composed, and timeless. The taller chest was finished in a muted willow green, while the companion nightstands kept their honeyed wood tops — layered rather than themed. A suite built to begin in childhood and keep working beautifully for years.
Investment
Once your direction is approved, a 50% deposit reserves your place in the Calgary studio and begins the work. The remaining balance is due on delivery, when your finished piece arrives in your home. Secure online deposit payments through Stripe will be available shortly — for now, Kara will arrange the deposit with you directly after your commission is confirmed.
